India

1) According to a recent survey, Indian Food is Britain's favourite dish!

       2) Some Indian curries have a Portugese element. This is because lots of         Portugese migrants moved to India in the early 16th century. 

3) In the Goan region of India, a meal would not be complete without some Fish in it!

       4) In India, it is not uncommon for people to eat with their hands!          

          This is because it is believed to be ritualistic and tastier...

5) It is thought that the famous Chicken Tikka Masala was invented by a chef in Glasgow when he added too many tomatoes to his curry by mistake!

Vietnam

1) A popular drink in Vietnam is a wine called Ruou Ran. It contains Pickled Snake!

         2) Vietnamese meals often contain a healthy balance for the body, such as the

          balance between 'sweet' and 'sour.' This 'balance' is called Yin- Yang

3) Raw Animal Blood is a popular delicacy in Vietnam and is usually served in a Bloody-type Soup!

       4) Many of the ingredients found in Vietnamese food have been influenced by the

      French, particularly the vegetables such as Cauliflower, Lettuce & Carrot.

5) Pho is the most famous Vietnamese dish and it's a noodle soup that usually contains beef or chicken with veg.

   Italy

1) Mozzarella cheese originates from Italy and is either made from cow's milk or milk from a Water Buffalo! 

         2) In Italy, the main meal of the day is usually at Lunch Time!

3) Until recently, Dormouse was a popular Italian cuisine. However, the Dormouse is now considered a protected species, although it is rumoured many still eat it!

       4) There are approximately 350 different types of Pasta throughout the world!

5) On average, an Italian person eats between 25-30kg of Pasta a year!

   Germany

1) It is believed that over 1,500 different types of Sausage are made in Germany!  

         2) The average German person will eat 61kg of meat per year!

3) In Germany, the traditional Christmas dinner is served with Goose or Duck, rather than Turkey.

       4) One city in the South of Germany, called Nuremburg, is regarded as the Gingerbread capital of the World!

5) Weisswurst is a famous white sausage popular in the Bavarian region of Germany, and it is tradition to bite the end off and suck the sausage out from under the skin!

1) Brazil is famous for its Carnivals, but did you know that the Carnival season is traditionally a 6 day long party! 

         2) A very popular dish in Brazil is a Coracao de Frango, which is actually a Chicken's Heart! 

3) A dish called Feijoada is also very popular in Brazil. It is like a stew and traditionally contains a pig's Ears, Tail and Feet!

       4) In the South of Brazil, due to the long livestock tradition and the heavy German migration, red meat has become the local form of cuisine.

5) 'Rodizio' is a word often associated with Brazilian food and it is a type of restaurant whereby the waiter brings a variety of meats to your table.

  Kenya

1) Nyama Choma is the signature dish of Kenya. Put simply, it is goat's meat that is roasted on a barbecue and usually eaten by a large group of people. 

         2) Matumbo is a popular tripe dish served in Kenya. It actually refers to the internal stomach of an animal, but is usually cleaned about before it is eaten!

3) The Kenyan lifestyle is simple and relaxed. Therefore the food is very similar, as it is usually cheap and easy to make.

       4) It would be fairly normal in Kenya to find a Green Banana in your meat stew!

5) Although originally from India, Chapati (Indian Flat Bread) is now extremely popular in Kenya.
